Birdies And Stuff

Isn't this little guy adorable? It's a Thick-billed Murre I spotted yesterday at Orient Point (where I took the icy pics that were posted a few days ago). This bird is a lifer for me. :-) He's already losing his winter white cheeks/throat, which kind of makes me sad. Unlike most people, I don't like the end of winter. All the arctic visitors go back home to breed and live their reclusive lives... where I can't watch and enjoy them. Spring migration is exciting, but my preference is definitely watching the wintering birds from the North.

I have a birding/nature journal linked at the right; it's much more interesting than this blog, that's for sure. Unless, for some bizarre reason, you're not into birds. If that's the case, I don't wanna know you.
